Hello world! Mizo & I connect once more like we do every week for another grab bag extravaganza of a Sabbath Sessions mix for your ears. We were channeling some kind of spirit this week in the lounge playing all sorts of cuts and blending gems together for your pleasure. Lots of beat based rhythms mixed with classic jazz sounds, electronic adventures, boom bap hiphop and whatever else struck our fancy. You know what to expect: the unexpected. After a week of unbearable heat things have cooled off around the PNW but Mizo and I showed up in the lab with stacks of wax to keep the thermometer rising. This week there was an overarching sense of melancholy via a number of soul grooves meant to tug on the heartstrings and capture that pain that is heartbreak. It’s not all sad boy, emo feels however as you are blessed with some zoned out tunes that walk a line between ambient and electronic as well as our usual jazz jumps and a handful of rap numbers with some folk and hints of rock and world jams to round out the journey.
