On the occasion of my 5th year clean and sober my Aunt Nancy from Maryland made the trip out to celebrate and connect. She took a little convincing but I was able to get her into the studio with a few songs picked out that spoke to her throughout her life! Happy Sunday y’all! Mizo and I laid this one down last night and as per usual we are all across the map, the board, whatever metric you use to measure varied sonic textures we aim to hit. Of course you get the usual tastes of soul, funk and jazz, and this week when Mizo told me he was kicking it off with Danny Brown I knew I was gonna be dropping some gritty grimey hiphop bangers of my own. Then of course that is evened out with some beautiful ambient grooves, some spiritual abstractions and electronic workouts. Needless to say we wanna keep you guessing.
